GALVANIZING

Hot dip galvanizing is a modern and technically advanced process that preserves steel and iron from rust. The high quality zinc coating exploits the unique properties of this metal, as it protects steel against corrosion.
PROCAN S.r.l. hot dip galvanizing system is called “tunnel”, as all tanks are placed in a tunnel, carried out in antacid material, which allows a clean processing, thus respecting the
external environment.
As a matter of fact, inside the tunnel a vacuum is created through the uninterrupted suction effect of a fan. In this way, the acid fumes are kept isolated inside the tunnel.

The galvanic reaction between zinc and steel takesplace in the fused zinc, generally at a temperature between 440° and 460° C. At these temperatures the two metals react rapidly.
Once it comes out from the galvanizing tank, the material has practically completed its technological cycle. Therefore PROCAN S.r.l. galvanizing plant is able to carry out an additional
processing: the final dip passivation treatment that allows to remove any trace of white rust.
Manufacturing processes utilized by PROCAN S.r.l. in the galvanizing activity omply with the UNI EN ISO 1461.
